The South Florida Sun Sentinel is looking for an enterprising and versatile health writer for a critical role in our digital-first newsroom. This reporter should be comfortable breaking news, explaining complex issues in simple ways, and tapping into the interests and needs of South Florida’s diverse communities. The demands of the job will be different day-to-day: public health concerns; research and developments coming out of local medical schools and hospitals; Medicare news; politics and how public money is spent; as well as everyday healthy living issues. We are looking for an innovative and engaging reporter equally adept at quick bursts and enterprise, who understands that digital agility is the key to growing audience. Expect to file every day, shoot photos and video from time to time, and use social media skillfully to report and promote your work.
