The South Florida Sun Sentinel is looking for an experienced reporter to create and curate highly engaging, local content targeted specifically at our most important audience: Our subscribers.


This is a fast-paced, beat-reporting position. Except your “beat” isn’t one topic — it’s a range of topics that are valuable to our most loyal readers at any moment. You’ll be using data to identify topics and trending stories our subscribers are interested in and regularly mining social media for fresh, interesting stories that may be developing among different online communities. You should have a keen eye for potential conversation starters in our coverage and help build those conversations through interaction with readers on social media and other channels.





You’ll use what you know about our subscriber preferences to curate our largest newsletter, Trending Weekly, with a focus on the stories that will resonate most with that audience. 


In breaking news situations, you’ll help to identify reporting opportunities, potential sources and the best user-generate content and multimedia to help our online storytelling.


You’ll also collaborate with other newsroom teams to make sure we’re leveraging all opportunities to get our strongest content before our subscribers.






The ideal candidate will have at least five years of reporting experience that includes social media acuity and the sophisticated use of analytics to sharpen a beat.
