Overview

The Senior Campaign Specialist acts as the primary point person for the execution of digital advertising campaigns, including overseeing the fulfillment of campaign orders, actively managing multiple campaigns simultaneously, and working with internal teams and vendors on implementation, execution, and reporting of digital KPIs. 

 

Responsibilities will span Tribune Publishing’s entire digital portfolio of Digital display, Native advertising, Reach, Programmatic, SEO, PPC, Social Media Advertising, and Email Marketing. The Senior Campaign Specialist is also responsible for mentoring Campaign Specialists on the team and providing ongoing training and guidance to fellow team members. He or she will be asked to help QA and troubleshoot campaigns and provide strategic consultation for struggling tactics.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain campaigns directly on pertinent platforms.
  • Responsible for personal workflow and balance as well as contributing to the success of the Digital Ad Operations department.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regional operations teams, local and national sales teams, agencies and advertisers. 
  • Work with regional team to understand and establish campaign requirements, and serve as subject matter expert in assisting with campaign set-up, optimization suggestions, etc.
  • Troubleshoot, problem-solve, and communicate with co-workers and Digital Ad Ops Manager to complete complex processes under tight deadlines each month.
  • Exhibit expertise in all digital delivery targeting options available within our systems. Have the ability to present the information knowledgeably and concisely to the markets when applicable.
  • Lead training and knowledge sharing sessions, and update market and Digital Ad Ops documentation as appropriate, as digital processes evolve.
  • Review daily analysis and reporting to optimize as needed for campaign performance improvement.
  • Understand how to traffic and troubleshoot 3rd party ad tags.
  • Understand Tribune Publishing ad tag structure and ad-serving algorithms across all platforms.
  • Exhibit proficiency in all variations of mobile ad fulfillment.
  • Keep up with current Tribune Publishing Digital products, industry issues, trends, and ad serving solutions. 
  • Coordinate and take the lead on managing team SLA adherence and queue organization within the order submission system.
  • Secure and process ad creative and verify the ad specs and other details associated with the successful launch of an online ad campaign. 
  • Assist Operations Managers with strategic initiatives, as requested.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Business, Marketing, Economics, or Mathematics discipline preferred.
  • 3-5 years in trafficking and ad operations in technology or digital advertising agency, including Search Advertising, SEO, Programmatic and Social Advertising
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience overseeing digital quality assurance
  • Understanding of GAM, Google Advertising Suite, Social Networks
  • Experience in optimizing towards CTR, CPC, CPA, or ROI goals
  • Google Certifications Preferred
  • Attention to detail and meticulous follow through with both internal and external customers
  • Accurately execute within a fast-paced environment
  • Good troubleshooting skills and a love of solving problems
  • Ability to adapt quickly and seamlessly in an ever-changing environment
  • Analytical mindset and critical thinking skills that demonstrate valuable business insights
  • Must have a strong customer focus that conveys responsiveness and competence
  • Knowledge of HTTP protocols and web browsers
