The Senior Accounts Payable Analyst is responsible for performing all AP department functions, including researching data, performing analysis, presenting results, and making recommendations in response to various AP issues. Additionally, this role provides business and financial analysis to drive efficiencies in the procure-to-pay and vendor management procedures, resulting in timely payment to vendors and employees. Through effective use of data-mining and analytical tools, the Senior AP Analyst creates reports and reconciliation analysis to ensure that proper payments are made to vendors and to provide expendeture and cost analysis to both local and corporate stakeholders. The role is also responsible for the development and ongoing improvement of centralized AP processes and for providing efficient and responsive services to Tribune’s employees, strategic sourcing, and key vendor relationships. The Senior AP Analyst serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on cloud-based computer systems to assist in the review and implementation of processes, procedures, and system improvement initiatives. This is a highly collaborative role that oversees the AP helpdesk, supports the training and ongoing development of AP staff, and provides analysis and information to both internal and external partners.

The Financial Analyst’s objective is to, with limited guidance, execute timely and effective sales commission calculation, performance management reporting and analysis for multiple levels within the organization, including senior management, finance, human resources, and sales sales personnel. The role will assist in comp plan design implementation, and create consistent reporting for both local and national levels of the sales organization. The reporting and analysis performed by the role will enhance management’s ability to evaluate the effectiveness of the sales organization in its achievement of sales objectives.

This position is responsible for ensuring that newspaper bundles are properly, safely and accurately delivered, on time, from the Hartford Courant’s loading docks to relay drivers, distribution centers and other locations by driving, loading and unloading truck. This is a 3rd shift position, requires a commercial driver’s license (CDL) with airbrake endorsement in good standing with no violations during the past 3 years.

The New York Daily News with Tribune Publishing is looking for enthusiastic students to learn the world of journalism from one of New York’s most vibrant news organizations.
Overview:
During the summer of 2020, select interns will be immersed in one of the largest news organizations in the U.S.
You will not be pampered, but expected to think on your feet, get to the core of the story, cover an event in different forms, edit, post and promote online. Think ‘Digital First.’
In this eight-week paid program, students will learn journalism best practices, the latest tools, technologies and insights from a diverse set of editors, and social, digital and headline strategies.
You will have hands-on training, mentorship, learning and development sessions and a chance to meet journalism students from different universities.
You’ll also learn reporting, digital storytelling, newsgathering, and newsroom best practices.
You will also learn how print and digital production merge, a fast–growing global CMS, and analytics used by all Tribune Publishing publications.
- Dates: Monday, June 1 to Friday, July 24
- Hours: About 30 hours a week. $15.00 an hour
- Eligibility: Open to full-time graduate or undergrad students
