The Morning Call in Allentown, Pa., is looking for a Senior Content Editor to help us grow audience across all of our digital platforms as well as print and mobile. The Senior Content Editor is responsible for supervising and developing reporters in the following areas of focus: Growth and Development, Education, Health Care and Urban Affairs.
The Senior Content Editor is responsible for assigning, editing and enhancing audience-focused content, from breaking news to enterprise and investigative stories to newsletters. This includes working directly with reporters, visual journalists and database journalists on content development and execution, editing text and writing compelling headlines.
We work remotely, but communicate multiple times daily with direct reports via Slack messages, phone calls, and meetings. This is a remote position, so relocation may not be necessary but gaining knowledge of the Lehigh Valley and understanding our audience would be required of a successful candidate.

The Morning Call is seeking an aggressive and curious reporter to join our emerging news team working afternoons and evenings. We are looking for a digitally savvy journalist who can move quickly and independently to turn around stories on everything from crime to weather to trending topics, driven by our awareness of what readers are thinking and talking about.You'll report on breaking news across various beats, collaborating with other reporters and looking out for the second-day story on the first day. You need to work quickly, creatively and decisively. You will develop sources and mine social media and the digital world for leads.
Accuracy and clean writing on tight deadlines are essential. The successful candidate must be a self-starter with a college degree and some journalism experience. We are looking for applicants who have solid news judgment, strong digital and social media skills, and an ability to track down sources on short notice. The ability to juggle multiple stories, produce a variety of content both quickly and accurately, and change gears based on a variety of factors, including audience demand, is essential.

Tribune Publishing is looking to hire part-time EditorialNews Page Designers to work for our Design and Production Studio (DPS), home to all print design for Tribune Publishing's award-winning newspapers across the country. The team is fully remote but must reside in a state noted below. This is a posting for future part-time openings on the team.
Duties for our News Page Designers (Print Production Specialists) may vary within the team. Depending on the team’s needs, a Print Production Specialist’s main responsibility may include but are not limited to preparing articles, photos and designs for publication in Tribune print newspapers; proofing and typesetting newspaper pages for all Tribune newspapers; and editing and designing content to be shared across all Tribune Publishing newspapers.
Successful Print Production Specialists will possess initiative, good news judgment, attention to detail, incredible organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy. Print Production Specialists must be able to multitask and perform well under constant deadlines with minimal-to-moderate supervision in a remote work environment. Additionally, a Print Production Specialist should have some combination of a strong command of the English language, as well as editing and design skills that conform to accepted journalistic techniques and the style of the publication.

The Morning Call in Allentown, Pa., is looking for a Urban Life reporter who will tell the stories of our underreported urban communities, not from the politicians’ point of view, but its residents, particularly in the Latino neighborhoods of Allentown, whose population is 50% Hispanic, and Bethlehem. We want a reporter who will be aggressive in developing sources in the community in pursuit of telling stories of social injustice and how that injustice affects daily lives. We also want a reporter to show the positive or negative effects of public policy on urban residents, including criminal justice and possible reforms. In short, we want to tell the stories of our cities that we aren’t telling now. The Morning Call is part of Tribune Publishing, located 60 miles north of Philadelphia and 90 miles west of New York City in the thriving Lehigh Valley.
